Frick Park - Iron Gate - What's up?

Rode Frick today, Iron Gate trail had all kinds of tree limbs, rocks and even cement blocks on main parts of trail. Really ruins the flow for bikers. Some objects placed at bad spots if the intent was to build in some new obstacles. Any idea why this is happening? I moved all I could, including cement blocks.

And the new jump a the top of the trail has a 15 foot gap? Any takers?

I was also surprised by new stunts on the Iron Grate. Two of them have huge gaps and belong on a freeride trail and the others are essentially teeny speed bumps in weird places. Anyway, I hope the trail builders will take their efforts elsewhere. There's already a trail there; why not build someplace currently devoid of singletrack?

Wasn't Iron Grate a muddy mess? I know last summer with all the rain we got it never really dried out, and with people still riding it it turned to shit. If it was reasonably dry, cool. If it was a muddy mess, why the heck are people riding it?

Frick is the most used park in Western Pa.
There is No way to control what happens there.
A lot of younger riders with no communication with Watz-up.
For us as riders we need all to keep an eye out and report(Stunts & Nails to trails)

Yeah good thing they made a jump in a mud hole i wish people didnt get stupid ideas.Im all for new stuff like a few sections added last year but this crap thrown together needs to stop before the park manager gets to mad.

iron gate has become the WORST trail in frick. forget the new jumps. it is rutted and sloppy and dangerous. not because it is techy or challenging, but because it needs rebuilt and it sucks. and we know, only god and ptag may enhance trails in frick. not the people who grew up there and make it what it is and ride it every day. if we wait for ptag, we will all be dead before anything is built or fixed in frick. other riding trails locally may get love from these orgs, but not frick. and yes, i will and have contributed to the park in the past.

do you wanna know what frick really needs seriously. some f-ing signs telling bikers, hikers, dog walkers the primary purpose/difficulty/direction of each trail. lets do it instead of giving more reason for everone not to think about a few silly jumps on irongate.

List of frick park necessities far more important than the jumps on iron gate that yinz are up in arms about
-signage
-iron gate overhaul
-big tree that blocks bottom of switchback-2 years old
-big tree that blocks old bottom section of nature center trail
-multiple trees across trail that connects roller coaster to iron gate
-doing something besides littering the woods with the teeter totter and bridge that lay off the side of the dinky bridge trail xtension
-fix backside of first A frame on nature center. WAIT!! I already fixed it


-build a real bridge across the creek to entrance of 276-face it guys. It is the best and most sought after trail in the park, sorry. You have to accept it

Asking for the secret identities of users was an over-reach. Please accept my apologies. That was unprofessional.

However, the PTAG crew at Frick Park really needs help from locals who enjoy using Frick Park. Greater support to the trail volunteers will ensure a better trail network in Frick park as well as other local parks.

The April 1 workday commences at 9:00 AM - Meet at the Lower Frick parking lot.

We will require all participants to sign a waiver, with your real name. You may keep your crimefighter ID to yourself. Actually we prefer that.
