Who are you?

Postby Mauriceman on Mon May 11, 2009 12:33 pm

My comment: It would be nice to know who's doing the talking on here. So i am wondering, why does everyone change their name to some pseudonym anyway? I have enough trouble with names and this is making it tough for me. Meow.

I second that one brother. I get totally confused. I took your queue several weeks back and added a name to my signature. -->

Just playing devil's advocate here Maurice, but some post anonymously because they sometime post from work during breaks. If they post under a real name, theoretically an employer could find out that they are posting during work hours, and break or no break, that could be bad. Some of us are fortunate enough to have flexible hours and break times, but others may not be in a similar position. Also, a prospective employer could do an internet search to find out what blogs or sites an applicant visits and this could be potentially harmful to a job prospect. Maybe not so much here, but folks do get sensitive about that. So there is a one possible explanation.

This may not be as a big a problem though as those subtly homo-erotic tag lines we get based on the number of times we have posted. I could not wait to get out of "lubed and ready to go" only to find myself slip right back into something even more queer: "looks good in armor." Not that there is anything wrong with that. I'm just sayin is all.

...and to boot, "let's huck" was alright until rlith's avatar bridged the gayness gap.

Mo,

folks use an alias so they can talk trash about the work that should be done in the county parks then not be required to back it up in person because no one knows who they are...it is the flexing of the e muscles which makes this strategy so effective.

my name is right in my sig. happy trails
