Snowshoe is the best downhill close to Pittsburgh. It's about 4-5 hours.

Hey Karen a group of us are working in North Park to build a freeride trail with drops and jumps will be working when the weather changes you would have fun there and may want to help us build stuff. The freeride/downhill scene in Pittsburgh is growing. Welcome aboard! Jamie

Hey

Cool, yes I'm looking forward to having a rag around Frick park, so nice to have something so close.

Definitely, I'm totally up for helping out, I used to at home at a place called Wisley (although probably not as much as I should have done  ). More than happy to encourage the DH scene here, just give me a spade! :D

Are any the downhillers here familiar with Mohican Wilderness outside Loudenville, Ohio? Wanted to here someone else's thoughts on it. It's about a three hour drive and is situated about three miles from the 25 mile cross country loop in Mohican State Park. We road there last summer. There's a ton of downhill and technical features packed into the trials and there is some seriously sick terrain. We found a super sick 15 - 20 ft rock drop off the right of the power line. It's a hell of climb up especially if you have a downhill bike but there's a road you can drive if you want to shuttle it back up.

Instead of looking for fast rolling tires, you should try some fast pedaling legs. -DP

I have a Specialized Bighit, had it for long time but it's still a sweet ride. Would really like to get a new DH rig this year though, maybe an Evil Revolt 8). Then I have an Iron Horse, Azure Expert and my commuting bike is a Marin, Hawk Hill, bling free to avoid it getting nicked in London :D

"nicked" "spade".... you sound like my boys on top gear :) i love it!

welcome!!!
